CANDIDATES — WHAT TO EXPECT

Interviewing with CQ? Here's exactly how it works.

No trick questions, no black boxes, no ghosting. This page explains what a CQ interview is, how you're evaluated, and the rights you keep throughout.

01The experience~35 MINUTES

A conversation, not a quiz.

You'll see CQ on screen in a live, two-way video call. It asks questions relevant to the actual role, listens to your answers, and follows up on what you say — the way a good interviewer would. You pick the time, including evenings and weekends.

02How to prepareSUBSTANCE WINS

Four things that actually move your score.

PREP—1

Bring real examples

CQ probes specifics: what you decided, why, what happened. Have two or three real projects ready to discuss in depth.

PREP—2

Structure your answers

Situation, decision, reasoning, outcome. Structured thinking is a scored dimension — showing your framework helps.

PREP—3

Don't recite. Reason.

Scripted answers are detected and score poorly on follow-ups. Honest reasoning about a messy real situation beats a polished monologue.

PREP—4

Set up like it matters

Quiet room, stable connection, camera on. Technical hiccups don't affect scoring, but focus helps you think.

03Your rightsCONSENT / DATA / FEEDBACK

Questions candidates actually ask.

Q.1What is a CQ Interview?

A live, two-way video interview conducted by ClurQ's AI interviewer. CQ asks role-specific questions, listens to your answers, and asks adaptive follow-ups — a structured conversation, not a quiz or a form.

Q.2How am I scored?

Against role-calibrated competency dimensions — Decision Quality, Communication, Problem Solving, and others — each scored 0–100 with written reasoning. Scoring is based on what you say, never on appearance, accent, or background.

Q.3Can I interview in my own language?

Yes. CQ conducts interviews in 20+ languages and evaluates the substance of your answers without a language penalty.

Q.4What happens to my data?

You consent before recording. Your interview is shared only with the hiring team, is never sold, and is never used to train models without your explicit consent. You can request your data at any time.

Q.5Will I get feedback?

When the employer enables it, every interviewed candidate receives a structured skill breakdown — selected or not. We think ghosting is a design flaw, not a policy.

Q.6What if something goes wrong mid-interview?

Connection drops don't count against you — sessions resume where you left off. If an integrity flag is raised in error, it's reviewed by a human with the evidence attached; nothing auto-rejects you.

04Employers

This is the experience your candidates deserve.

Respectful, multilingual, feedback-first — and it produces better signal for your team, too.
